I love veggies and herbs ! even more so growing it.
There is nothing more satisfying than to reap the fruits of your hard labour. It always amazes me how a tiny little seed can grow into a plant producing the most loveliest vegetables.
Below is my veggie garden, as you can see it is not that big just enough to feed a family of 3.
My husband was so nice to cover it using pvc pipes, fittings and shading to keep the birds out, and boy do we have enough of them around!
This is my first summer growing veggies in my covered veggie garden, It doesn’t get as much sun as I was hoping for….see the tree behind us in my neighbours yard…. At least we will reap the full sun in the winter and hopefully the shading will protect my winter veggies against the frost.
Sometime I don’t remember what I’ve planted where, nevermind I like surprises!
The Green beans are busy flowering. Nothing beats fresh cooked green beans saute in butter with crushed black pepper and chopped garlic.
Not sure what to plant? plant the veggies you spend the most money on during the month. Planting tomatoes is always wise, you can never have too much tomatoes. use whatever you can use fresh and use the rest to cook up a tomato relish to freeze to use later.
This enormous butterfly was trapped in my veggie garden and saved by my hero, my husband!

Wonderful looking garden, I hope one day ours looks so green and plentiful. Thanks for sharing. Happy blogging, Lee http://www.thebeachhousekitchen.wordpress.com
Wow your veggie garden is gorgeous! I’d love to have a garden like that! I do grow herbs and berries in my yard… it’s a start! Lovely pictures too!
I’ve started with the herbs a few years ago, as usually I go gaga over things. Once I’ve got something in my mind I usually get obsessed about it. I just had to had all the varieties I could get my hands on. Now I only plant the once I really enjoy. The shading doesn’t really work and I want to replace it with a clear plastic this winter as my veggies really struggled to grow. Thanks for the visit on my blog!
You have a lovely garden and what a wonderful husband to make it so nice.
